The Dreamer’s Tears art!

IvyI did an interview – or ‘authorview’ as Kerstin Hall likes to call it – over at Scrawlings. It was one of the most fun interviews I have ever done. It’s funny and honest and so much more fun than a bunch of questions. I learned a lot. But the best part about this interview was the art!

Kerstin Hall* is uber-talented but when she offered to do some art portraying my main character Ivy, I had no idea what to expect. Little did I know that Kerstin is also a mind-reader because she captured Ivy exactly, right down to the determined expression on her face.

Here’s a little secret… before my book was published I desperately hoped I would be able to have some illustrated/painted cover art. Things didn’t turn out that way and in the end I was really happy with the end result of my book. Still… when I saw this picture I so wished I had known about Kerstin when we were designing the cover. Nevertheless, I have Ivy now. I think you’ll agree with me – she’s brilliant!

I am so excited to share this picture with you. I’d love to know whether this captures your impressions of Ivy as well. Leave your comments in the comments section below!

So without further ado… here is Ivy Bauble:

*Aside from being an artist, Kerstin is also a brilliant writer. She has been published in Terra Incognita, among other places. She’s also in Triad with me. You can download Triad from my ‘Other Stories’ page.

Keep writing!
